privacy

What this site does and doesn't collect.

Short version: I'm not selling anything, I'm not selling your data, and I'm not running ads. If you accepted analytics, this site captures a small amount of anonymized usage information so I can see whether anyone's actually reading the thing. If you declined, it captures nothing.

what gets captured (only if you click accept)

Page views, clicks on links and buttons, and the basic things any browser hands over (rough country from IP address, browser, screen size, referrer). PostHog assigns a random ID and stores it in a cookie on your device so repeated visits are connected together.

what happens with the contact form

If you fill out the contact form on the press box page, what you typed gets emailed straight to me. I also log that a submission happened (with your email as the identifier) to PostHog, whether or not you accepted analytics — because operating the form is a transaction you initiated, not background tracking. I use that data to reply to you and to spot abuse. Nothing else.

who else sees this

Two companies, both because they're the plumbing:

Hosting is on Vercel. Server logs are minimal and not cross-referenced with analytics.

changing your mind

Your accept/decline choice is stored in this browser's local storage under the key hdh_consent. To change it, clear that key (or your site cookies) and the banner will come back. If you accepted and want to be forgotten, email me through the press box and I'll delete your data from PostHog.

questions

If something here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what's stored against your visit, ask. I'll show you. Same address as everything else: the press box.
